This Action of the programme gives opportunities to individuals (students, teachers and staff) from Higher Education Institutions  to benefit from mobilities abroad for the purpose of improving their skills, enhancing their employability  and gain cultural awareness.

It is the largest action in ERASMUS + with 63% of the programme budget supporting it in order to increase mobilities and skills.

Activities Under Key Action 1

1.International Credit Mobility :

Higher Education Institutions from partner countries can solicit bilateral agreements with Higher Education Institutions from Programme Countries by contacting their National Agencies .

Higher Education Institutions  from partner countries and programme countries who have signed an Inter-Institutional Agreement can send their students and staff for a short term mobility.


Each project can last either 16 oir 24 months and institutions can apply for funding to support the following mobilities within a project:

 

 

  • Students mobility : for the duration of 3 to 12 months
  • Staff mobility : Teaching/Training for the duration of 5 days to 2 months.

Who can submit an application?

Higher Education Institutions established in a Partner Country like Algeria, can solicit a partnership with a Higher Education Institution who holds an Erasmus Charter for Higher Education (ECHE) and the later fills and submits the application form to it’s National Agency.

Eligible beneficiaries:

Enrolled students oir staff working at a Higher Education Institutions from a Partner who have signed an Inter-Institutional Agreement with a Programme Country Higher Education Institution.

Note that it is not required for the student to have the nationality of the country of the sending institution.

Erasmus Mundus Joint Masters and Doctorates

A consortium of European Universities from at least 3 different countries (it may also include Universities from other parts of the world) offer joint programmes of outstanding academic quality.

Higher education students as well as academic staff from all over the world can apply for a scholarship / fellowship.

Please note that students apply for a scholarship directly to the EMJMD consortium of their choice (Max 3 applications the same year) and go through a competitive selection process organized by the Consortium of Higher Education Institutions. For more info visit the scholarship page.

Since 2014 , new Doctoral Programmes and additional doctoral fellowships are available under the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions, which form part of the EU’s Horizon 2020 programme for research and innovation.

Erasmus Mundus Partnerships

This Action bring together Higher Education Institutions from Europe and from a targeted region of the world.The consortium has to include a minimum of 5 Higher Education Institutions (from at least 3 European countries).

The partnership manages mobilities between the two regions and offer scholarships  to individuals (students, scholars, researches, professionals) depending on the priorities of the targeted region and the arrangements agreed in the partnership.
